I'm Freesia!

Nice to meet you!

Over the past year, I have mentored students in quantum computing, gained workplace experience in RF engineering, and competed in global quantum hackathons, earning recognition for creativity. My background is largely in electrical systems, but I'm also proficient in programming.

I'm a huge fan of electronics and am based in Sydney, Australia. If you are too, you should join ACES! (Australian Creative Electronics Society)

The atmosphere is magnetic! :D

Hobbies

Coder by curiousity.

Skier by training.

Engineer by degree.

FAQ

Why quantum engineering?

Quantum engineering is this cool intersection between three of my favourite things: electrical engineering, physics, and computers!

It's a degree that promised to never run out of problems. My degree essentially trains me as an electrical engineer with higher expectations, while still emphasising low-level coding abilities and competence with physics. Beyond the core content of my degree, my electives are going to focus on telecommunications and microelectronics.

You don't sound Australian?

That's right! I'm a dual-citizen (Australian-Canadian), I have spent the majority of my life in Australia, but was born to two entrepreneurs who moved to Canada to found a successful skiing business!

I spent much of my life moving back and forth (going to 13 schools!)

Because I moved so much I started to really enjoy playing games on my computer, and eventually a friend invited me to a video-game making class her dad was hosting when I was 7, then later on I looked up "CS50."

The rest is history! :)

What projects are you working on currently?

Check out my most recently featured in the Projects page! (I'm also making my toaster oven a PCB reflow oven.)
